Before performing intracavitary and intraoperative inspections, a legally sold probe sheath must be installed on the probe. A protective barrier may be needed to minimize the spread of disease. The probe sheath can be used in all clinical situations where infection needs to be considered
1. Put an appropriate amount of gel in the sheath or on the acoustic lens of the probe. If the gel is not used, it may cause poor imaging.
2.Insert the probe into the sheath; make sure to use proper aseptic technique. Pull the cover tightly on the acoustic lens of the probe to remove wrinkles and bubbles, and take care to avoid piercing the sheath.
3.Fix the sheath with the attached elastic band.
4. Inspect the sheath to make sure there are no holes or tears.
