GE CARESCAPE™ R860 D-fend Pro+ Water Trap single use green cup 2087478-001 M1200227 for E-sCO, E-sCOV and E-sCOVX
► Brief Introduction
GE D-fend Pro+ Water Trap is use for airway module. The water trap has a hydroPHiliphhilipobic membrane that prevents condensed water and secretions from entering the airway module measuring chamber. The condensed water and secretions are collected in a washable container.
This water trap works with E-sCO, E-sCOV and E-sCOVX airway module with a gas exchange option that allows control of O2 consumption (VO2), carbon dioxide production (VCO2), energy expenditures (EE) and breathing apnea (RQ).
To provide accurate breathing to breathing measurement for respiratory gas exchange, the units algorithmally integrate side current gas concentrations (CO2 and O2) as well as flows and volumes resulting from each breath. This is done using the D-lite (+) /Pedi-lite (+) flow sensor along with a rapid paramagnetic oxygen sensor and an infrared gas table to measure CARBON DIOXIDE. Due to the principle of side current measurement, there is a delay of about 2.5 seconds in measurement, due to the time the sample moves across the sampling line to the module. The module syncs these concentrations and flows algorithmically.
To obtain the patient's oxygen consumption, the gas exchange unit measures the amount of oxygen inhaled and subtracts the amount of exhalation. CO2 production is measured by subtracting the amount of co2 inhaled from the amount of exhalation. These quantities can be obtained by multiplying each sample size measured by the corresponding gas concentration.

D-fend module is not detected by the installed airway module while the nebulizer is not in use. | Occlusion detected in airway module gas sampling line or D-fend water trap. | • Empty the D-fend water trap. • Check for an occlusion in the airway module gas sampling line. • Replace the airway module gas sampling line. |
Sample tubing inside or outside the installed airway module is blocked or the water trap is occluded. | The airway module gas sampling line or the Dfend water trap is not installed | • Install the D-fend water trap. • Check the airway module gas sampling line connection. • Wait 30 seconds, and then press Home to resume gas sampling. |
Residue buildup on the water trap membrane of the installed airway module. Buildup can decrease airflow. | Occlusion detected in airway module D-fend filter. | • Replace the D-fend water trap. |
