► How to use
Preparation before use
1) Choose a site where the movement of a conscious patient is less likely to be restricted and where perfusion is good.
2) Select an area that completely covers the sensor detection window.
3) Remove foreign objects from the site before placing the sensor.
4) Do not attach the sensor to your ear.
5) Recommended location of YI sensor according to weight and usable adhesive tape
(1) 1-3 kg (Newborn), CleanShield Wrap/Standard Wrap/Foam Wrap: Outside the lower fourth toe or outside the palm
(2) 3-10 kg (child), CleanShield Wrap/Standard Wrap/Foam Wrap: On the outside of the foot below the fifth toe or on the outside of the palm below the fifth toe. For babies with obesity or edema, the big toe or big toe is recommended.
(3) 10-50 kg (pediatric), standard petit wrap / foam wrap: middle or ring finger of non-dominant hand. It can be replaced with the thumb or second toe.
(4) 30 kg or more (adult), clean shield wrap / standard petit wrap / standard wrap / foam wrap: middle or ring finger of non-dominant hand. It can be replaced with the thumb or second toe.

► Precautions for Use
Warning
1) All sensors and cables are designed for specific monitors. Verify monitor, cable, and sensor compatibility prior to use to avoid performance degradation and/or patient injury.
2) The sensor should not have any visible defects, discoloration, or damage. If the sensor is damaged or discolored, discontinue use.
3) Never use a damaged sensor or a sensor with exposed circuitry.
4) Check sensor location frequently or according to clinical protocol to ensure proper connection, circulation, skin integrity, and optical alignment.
5) Special attention should be paid to patients with poor perfusion. Failure to frequently reposition the sensor may result in skin inflammation and pressure necrosis. In patients with poor perfusion, assess the sensor attachment site at least hourly and reposition the sensor if there is evidence of tissue ischemia.
6) Periodically check the end of cycle at the sensor location.
7) When perfusion is low, frequently assess the sensor site for signs of tissue ischemia that could lead to pressure necrosis.
8) If perfusion in the monitored area is very low, measurements may be lower than central arterial oxygen saturation.
9) Do not use tape to secure the sensor to this area. This may restrict blood flow and cause inaccurate measurements. Excess tape may cause skin damage and/or pressure necrosis or damage the sensor. 10) Carefully route the sensor cable to prevent the patient from tangling or pinching the cable.
11) Improper connection or partial displacement of the sensor may cause inaccurate measurements.
12) Installing the wrong type of sensor may cause missing or inaccurate measurements.
13) Tight sensor connections or edema may lead to inaccurate readings and pressure necrosis.
14) Abnormal venous pulsation or venous congestion may cause inaccurate SpO2 readings.
15) Venous congestion may lead to underestimation of true arterial oxygen saturation. Therefore, ensure that there is adequate venous blood flow to the monitoring site. The sensor should not be positioned below the level of the heart (for example, if the sensor is placed on the hand of a bedridden patient with the arm suspended in the Trendelenburg position).
