Description
Mindray 518B blood oxygen sensor is a medical sensor used for non-invasive monitoring of patients' blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and pulse rate. It is usually used in conjunction with Mindray's monitors (such as PM-9000 and uMEC series).
Working Principle:
- Light signal emission: LED emits red light and infrared light alternately.
- Signal reception: Photodetector detects the intensity of transmitted/reflected light.
- Calculation of SpO₂: SpO₂ is calculated by Lambert-Beer law based on the difference in the absorption rate of oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO₂) and reduced hemoglobin (Hb) for light of different wavelengths.
- Pulse rate detection: The pulse cycle is calculated by the frequency of light signal fluctuations.
Warning:
1. Disinfection and maintenance:
- Reusable probes need to be wiped with 75% alcohol to avoid soaking.
- Avoid bending the cable to prevent internal breakage.
2. Clinical environment:
- Strong light (such as surgical lights) may interfere with measurement, and the probe needs to be shielded.
- Patients with low perfusion (shock, hypothermia) may not be measured accurately.
