The front housing features a display and print area, perfectly fitting the Nihon Kohden 6951E electrocardiograph. The buttons are arranged below the display and divided into several functional areas:
- Lead Select Key: Used to manually select one of the standard 12 leads to be recorded. Pressing this key causes the device to record and print a waveform for the selected lead.
- Operation Mode Key: Starts and stops ECG recording. Switches between automatic and manual modes.
- Function Setup Key: Adjusts waveform magnification, changes recording speed, and enables or disables the noise reduction filter.
- Other Keys: Resets all settings to default. Sends a 1 millivolt standard square wave signal to calibrate the device's gain (sensitivity).
